DIT Library Services has taken out a one year subscription to Searcher, a cross-resource searching tool.
Searcher allows users to search across up to 16 library databases at once, with more databases to be added shortly. A list of the databases covered is available on the Advanced Search page. Results are ranked by relevance and are clustered by author and topic. By creating a user profile, users can also set up alerts and customised searches.

The Library will be trialling another, similar, product after Christmas and will be seeking user feedback then on which cross-resource searching tool is better.
