Project Muse - trial subscription

The library has taken out a trial subscription to Project Muse - a joint product from John Hopkins University and a number of non-profit scholarly publishers including university presses and societies. Muse includes over 100 journals in a wide variety of humanities and social science subjects. The complete journal content, including charts, graphs, and images is included. The producers guarantee permanent content that does not move or disappear. The trial lasts until January 8th 2010. Access at http://muse.jhu.edu or directly HERE

TaxFind Username and Password

TaxFind has moved to a new platform. As a result, our seamless access (via IP recognition) is not working at the moment. We can, however, log in with a username and password.

Please contact the library at 402-3068 or aungier.info@dit.ie for details of the username and password.

IP access should be restored shortly.

Learning to Share

Interesting article in the Times Higher Education Supplement (November 12th) on open access to research. Titled Learning to Share Zoƫ Corbyn and Matthew Reisz look at the issues involved. Open Access campaigners want free, immediate and permanently available research results for all. Unsurprisingly, the subscription publishers disagree. What are the ramifications for journal publishing? How will books fare? More HERE.
