US Legal Information
Conducting research across the laws of an unfamiliar jurisdiction can be daunting. Alison Shea will provide a general overview of US legal research and US primary sources, including statutes, cases and regulations. You'll have the chance to submit specific questions or issues that you may have encountered in the past regarding US legal research and these will be worked in to the general presentation.
Alison Shea
Alison has worked as a reference librarian at Fordham Law School since graduating with a joint JD/MLS in 2007. Her particular interest is in foreign, international, and comparative law with a focus on European competition law. In addition to normal academic reference duties, Alison teaches a number of sections of both basic and advanced legal research on a variety of topics, including administrative law, US legal research for LLMs, and a course specifically on foreign and international legal research.
