Read the Top Articles from Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences

Each year the Verity International Award for Best Paper in Management is awarded to an article which has appeared the previous year in the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences.

The Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, international quarterly journal that publishes manuscripts with a strong theoretical foundation.

The winning article, Conform or Rebel: When Does Keeping to the Rules Enhance Firm Performance by Alex Eapen and Rekha Krishnan, is available for free online, as are the following top articles from CJAS:

e-WOM Scale: Word-of-Mouth Measurement Scale for E-Services Context Isabelle Goyette, Line Ricard, Jasmin Bergeron, and Francois Marticotte.

Discretionary power of project managers in knowledge-intensive firms and gender issues Stephanie Chasserio and Marie-Josee Legault.

DIT Library Services also has electronic access to the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences via Business Source Premier from 1997 to July 2009.

DIT's Print Journals Now Listed in E-Journal Portal

DIT library services' holding of print journals are now included in the library's E-Journal portal .

This means the E-Journal portal is now a "one-stop shop" for determining whether the library owns a particular title in either electronic or print format.

For example, a search in the E-Journal portal for Journal of Marketing Management now indicates that, as well as being available online via Business Source Premier from 1985 to one year ago (due to the publisher's 1 year embargo), the title is also available in print in the library right up to the August 2010 issue.

This turns what was a for many users a two-step process (searching the E-Journal portal first, and then the Library Catalogue) into one easy step in the E-Journal portal.

Try Self Service and be in with a Chance to win an iPod Touch

Aungier St. library's self service goes live today!
The library has installed two self service machines which will enable users to borrow and return library books and DVDs without queuing at the main Service Point. These machines use the latest technology available and DIT is the first to install them in Ireland. They also fully integrate with the new smart ID cards introduced by Information Services for students this September. The combination of Self Service and smart ID card is another first in Ireland for DIT.
The new system uses a touch screen with clear prompts to help users to borrow and return books themselves. Library staff are on hand to help users with the new system, and every user gets a lollipop! The system should speed up waiting time for our users and give staff at the Service Point more time to help students and academic staff with research, ordering books, InterLibrary loans, and answering queries.
There are prizes for students who use the self service machines before 31st October - 3M is sponsoring an iPod Touch and the library is offering a €100 One4All voucher. So, come in and give the machines a go and be in with a chance to win!
