Working on your dissertation and finding it hard to keep track of your references? Endnote Web provides a free tool (Endnote Basic) allowing you to store up to 50,000 references online (should be enough to cover the average dissertation!) and a plug-in which inserts references and formats citations and bibliographies automatically while you write your dissertation in Word.
The library has guides to using Endnote Basic and also offers classes on using Endnote.
To organise a class, send us a message via the Ask a Librarian form or drop in and talk to one of the librarians.

How to Renew Books Online
Did you know you can renew your books online?
Just log in to MyLibrary with your student/staff number and Library PIN, select the books you want to renew and click on the Renew Marked button.
You can renew all your books at once by clicking on the Renew All button.
Make sure you check the due date after you've renewed as the system won't change the due date for a book that you've renewed before, that is overdue, or that someone else has requested.

Off-Campus Access to Library Databases
Our guide to off-campus access to the library's databases,
electronic journals and e-books is available on the
Aungier Street library website.
As you'll see from the guide, when accessing databases, electronic journals and e-books from outside DIT's network you will be prompted to authenticate in one of two ways:
1. If you see a BLUE login screen, log in with your staff/student number and your DIT email password (initially your date of birth in ddmmyyyy format).

Off-campus access to past exam papers
You can
access the past exam papers from the library website. See Aungier Street Library's Exam
Papers Guide for information on how to do this.
You'll be prompted to log in if you're accessing the papers from off-campus.
The Exam Papers have their own username and password (different to those that you use to access library databases and e-journals). We can't publish the Exam Papers username and password here, but you can find it here by entering your student number and Library PIN.
Alternatively call the library at 01-402 3068, or send us a message through Ask a Librarian.
